Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop, October 2008 |

The Michael & Mauritia Patcha Foundation, in partnership with the North West Women's Forum is organizing a breast cancer awareness workshop for women of ages 20 and above, at the Cameroon Cultural Center, Buea on Wednesday October 29th 2008 beginning at 2 pm. Mr. Ngongi Ikombi, a nutritionist, will provide nutritional information. Dr. Kawah will also be present to answer questions.
October is breast cancer month!
The theme is Nutrition, lifestyle and Breast Cancer. Emphasis will be on healthy diet as a deterant to breast cancer, and self exams and mammograms as the keys to early detection.
Attendees will receive:
a monthly breast self exam instruction/reminder card
learn the BSE techniques
receive tips on good nutrition and some recipes
get answers to questions about mammograms from Dr Sumbele Kawah
meet a representative of the Delegation of Health and discuss health issue
with her
Leaders of women's groups are encouraged to attend and take back knowledge gained to educate their members. Together let's fight cancer and win! |

The ravaging effects of breast cancer have necessitated more emphasis on early detection.
This is an opportunity for women in Buea to learn breast self exam techniques, symptoms, risk factors, where to get help and eventual treatment of breast cancer.
The best protection againt breast cancer is early detection. Together let's fight cancer and win!
